Sentinel Electric Side Steps are the flagship of our exclusive line. Weather-sealed motors drop an aluminium board out from under the rocker the instant you open the door, and tuck it back up flush when you close it. Getting into a lifted truck stops being a climb — for kids, for shorter drivers, for anyone with a bad knee, and for everyone in an Alberta January when the running board is a sheet of ice.

The reason people pay four to five times the price of a fixed board is what happens when the door is shut. The step is gone: full ground clearance off-road, no board to catch on a curb or a snowbank, and a clean unbroken line down the side of the truck. Fixed boards are always down, always dirty, always in the way.

Wiring is truck-specific and plug-and-play — no splicing into the factory harness. Thirteen fitments covering F-150, RAM 1500/2500/3500, Silverado, Sierra, Tundra, Tacoma and Gladiator. Exclusive to Stallion Auto in Canada, and we install them ourselves in Edmonton.

Sizing & fitment

Fitment is by year, make, model and cab style — the board runs the length of the cab, so a Crew Cab board will not fit a Double Cab. Always confirm how many full doors the truck has before ordering. Gladiator fitment differs depending on whether the vehicle has factory side skirts.

Installation

This is a professional installation and we strongly recommend letting us do it — it is included free with purchase at our Edmonton shop. Brackets mount to factory points under the rocker and the harness plugs into an existing connector; the motors need to be aligned properly or the boards will not sit flush. Budget two to three hours in the bay.

Care & maintenance

Rinse road salt off the motor housings and board rails through the winter — salt is the main enemy of the mechanism. Do not pressure-wash directly into the motor seals. If a board starts to hesitate or sit unevenly, bring it in early rather than letting it strain.

Delivery

SHIPPING NOTE — this product ships in a box between 195 cm and 225 cm long and bills at 34–42 kg. That is oversize freight, not a normal parcel. Free delivery still applies on orders over $199, but we book these as freight and the transit time is longer than a standard courier. In-store pickup with free installation is by far the better option if the customer is anywhere near Edmonton.

Questions we get asked

Do they work in winter?
Yes — that is when customers appreciate them most. The motors are weather-sealed and the boards clear themselves of snow each time they cycle. Rinse the salt off periodically and they last.

What happens if the motor fails?
The boards can be manually positioned and the unit is covered by a two-year warranty. In practice, failures we have seen come from salt corrosion, which rinsing prevents.

Can I install them myself?
Technically yes, but we would rather you did not — alignment is fiddly and the wiring routing matters. Installation is free with purchase in Edmonton.

Will they fit my cab style?
Fitment is cab-specific. Count the full doors: Crew Cab / CrewMax / SuperCrew have four full doors; Double Cab / SuperCab have smaller rear doors. The boards are different lengths.
